In his remarks in a panel at the Munich Security Conference, Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski said that Macedonia is dedicated to finding a mutually acceptable solution to the issues Bulgaria is raising and blocks Macedonia’s EU accession talks.

In the spirit of European good neighborly relations, Bulgarian Prime Minister Petkov and I intensified the talks over the past two months with a sincere will to make steps that bring us closer, to better cooperation and trust we believe will lead us to resolving our bilateral issues, Kovacevski said.

He warned the EU countries that the denial of accession talks to MAceodnia and ALbania is a serious blow for trust in the EU in the entire region. According to Kovacevski, this leaves a void in the Balkans that could be filled by others.
