Dimitar Kovacevski, Bujar Osmani and Bojan Maricic accept all Bulgarian demands with the new proposal, accuses MP and member of the EC of VMRO-DPMNE, Dragan Kovacki.

He points out that the Bulgarian proposal is capitulation, and Kovacevski and Osmani capitulate Macedonia.

Kovacevski, Osmani and Maricic are on their way to implement Bulgarianization. This must not pass. It’s too much! The proposal that Kovacevski, Osmani, Pendarovski and the rest present as a modified version is actually the same one that they allegedly rejected a week ago. That is the first lie of the Government. In this proposal, instead of opening a European perspective, a legal framework is made possible for Bulgaria to condition on identity topics, language, history, changes to textbooks, monuments, events and other humiliating demands.

Osmani and Kovacevski provide this to the Bulgarian side through the annual reports on the implementation of Article 12 of the bilateral agreement from 2017, which refers precisely to these sensitive issues. So if Bulgaria doesn’t like a sentence in a textbook, a lesson about Gove Delcev or the Ilinden Uprising, they would block the accession of Macedonia through this mechanism, just because our side agreed to it.

According to this Protocol, which the government calls an annual report, and which is part of the terms of negotiations, Macedonia undertakes to change the geography textbook for the 7th grade by the beginning of the next school year, change the lessons about Tsar Samuil according to the decisions of History Commission, joint annual calendar for 2022 and 2023 for joint celebrations of joint historical events and personalities.

Let me quote just one part of the Protocol that the Government wants to hide:

“Both parties to prepare and present sample lessons based on the recommendations of the Commission, which the Commission agreed to attached to the Protocol of the next meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission under Article 12 of the Agreement on Friendship, Good Neighborliness and Cooperation and to include them in the future on the appropriate curricula, textbooks and other relevant teaching materials, inscriptions on blackboards, historical monuments, memorials and information materials in museums and other locations of educational and cultural importance, as well as in electronic information files of public property”.

This is embarrassing. This is capitulation. This is the conscious consent of the government to accept all Bulgarian demands, accepting assimilation as a condition of membership.

In addition, even the actual start of the negotiations, that is, the opening of clusters, is conditioned by a change in the Macedonian Constitution. This only shows that it is a matter of complicating the negotiation process which did not apply to any candidate country before. In other words, if the proposal is accepted, we as a country agree that Bulgaria has the right to block permanently and in that way we will either become eternal negotiators or we will assimilate according to Bulgarian dictates.

Macedonia must demand that European integration be conducted exclusively on the existing European principles and values, and not through ultimatums and blackmail.

That is why tonight at 19 in front of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia there is a protest against the humiliating and assimilationist proposal offered to us by Kovacevski, Maricic and Osmani, Kovacki said.

This is not a partisan protest. This is not a protest of VMRO-DPMNE. This is a protest of the people of Macedonia. This is a protest by Macedonians FOR Macedonians. This is a protest of the citizens of Macedonia FOR Macedonia. This is a loud NO to the attempt at assimilation and Bulgarianization of the Macedonians. This is a loud NO to the Macedonian language as a dialect of the Bulgarian language. This is saying out loud that Gce, Dame and Jane are Macedonians, not Bulgarians!
