An “art” installation which represented an Orthodox Christian priest during an LGBT event in Skopje angered the faithful and prompted a response from the church.

The event had a man dressed as a priest represented in sexual acts with another man, and a Satanic character was added for good measure.

A number of left wing politicians, such as former Interior Minister Ljubomir Frckoski and Zaev’s culture adviser Robert Alagjozovski attended the event.

I would say you went over the line and hurt our Christian feelings, but I would be branded as a conservative homophobe. Well, I’m, if you believe that your freedom of sexual orientation means that the majority needs to endure, forgive and forget everything you do. Be proud on your parade, but show some sensibility as well. I believe that the LGBT community itself will condemn this act. I know many of them, and none of them say that they want to mock Christianity, said bishop Pimen.

The event caused a lot of outrage on the social media, with many commentators asking the transgressive LGBT artists why aren’t they similarly mocking other religions as well.
