More than a week after receiving the first more significant quantities of Astra Zeneca vaccines through the Covax mechanism and another donation of Russian vaccines through Serbia, the Healthcare Ministry is finally going to begin mass vaccination of the most critical population.

The Boris Trajkovski sports hall in Skopje is set up to accommodate two dozen patients at a time, and medical teams with 20 nurses and 5 doctors will be in place. About 3,000 citizens who registered online have appointments to receive the first dose of the Sputnik V vaccine. So far the small quantities of vaccines received through Serbia or Russia were given mainly to healthcare workers. This is the first vaccination of patients from the critical, endangered categories – the elderly and people with chronic illnesses.

Besides in the sports hall, vaccinations will also take place in clinics in Skopje and across the country.
