Daniel Kirovski, a doctor from Valandovo, is volunteering on a border crossing between Bulgaria and Romania, helping Ukrainian refugees. Kirovski went there through the National volunteer association, which helped 70 doctors from the region work on the border, as over 1.5 million people from Ukraine fled west, mainly to Poland and Romania.

The refugees have been through a long and difficult journey. They struggle with allergies, respiratory illnesses and diarrhea, but many of them also have oncological and rheumatological issues. I hope the war ends soon, and with that, their suffering, Kirovski said
