Hristijan Mickoski, leader of VMRO-DPMNE along with VMRO-DPMNE Executive Committee member Trajko Slaveski during a two-day visit to Berlin participated at a conference organized by the CDU Economic Council and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.

Together with the member of the Executive Committee of VMRO-DPMNE Prof. Trajko Slaveski Ph.D., we continue with the visit to Berlin, Federal Republic of Germany and participation in the program conference organized by Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and the ruling CDU party. During this day we participated in a conference organized by the CDU Economic Council and the Konrad Foundation where the economic potentials for development, European integration and the development of Europe and the region of the Western Balkans were discussed.

The conference was chaired by Astrid Hamker, president of the CDU Economic Council, and Dr. Dr Wolfgang Schäuble, President of the German Bundestag and former Finance Minister of Germany, Roland Koch, President of Hesse and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of UBS Europe , Manfred Weber, head of EPP’s parliamentary group in the European Parliament, and Ralph Hamers CEO of ING Group gave a speech.

We used our presence at the Conference and the bilateral meetings with the participants to present the ideas from the economic program of VMRO-DPMNE which is in the stage of preparation, to discuss the German experience in the realization of various ideas and projects, and opening channels for cooperation with representatives of the German economy. At the same time, the meetings were useful for contacts with potential German investors open for cooperation with the Republic of Macedonia. I used the talks to exchange opinions with one of the main drivers of the German economy, extremely useful in creating the economic program of VMRO-DPMNE, the development of political relations and providing a comprehensive offer to the citizens of Macedonia using the best practices of the German economy and society.

Such meetings will continue in the second half of the day when we will participate in the round table dedicated to the relations and development of the countries in transition, where Friedrich Merz, chairman of the German arm of BlackRock, Joe Caesar, CEO of Siemens will deliver an address and we will also take part in a panel discussion which will discuss the stabilization framework in Europe, where Peter Altmaier, Federal Minister of Economy and Budget, and Günther Oettinger, European Commissioner for Budget and Human Resources will deliver an address. During the day in the German Foreign Ministry, I had a meeting with Christian Helbach, the special representative for Southeast Europe of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs. At the meeting, we discussed the political and economic situation and the country’s European integration. He reiterated his view that citizens do not deserve to be punished for failing to implement reforms, corruption and crime stimulated by the Government, and in order to strengthen the European future of the country, it is necessary to allocate a date for negotiations. I pointed out that the state and citizens must not be held hostage to the harmful policies of Prime Minister Zaev and his government, Mickoski wrote on Facebook.
