VMRO-DPMNE official Antonio Milososki gave the party’s response to the outcome of the census, that was announced today. According to Milososki, the results are a major defeat for the country, evident in all municipalities except for the capital of Skopje. Milososki also said that the census is incomplete, given that 7.2 percent of the citizens abstained and did not provide their data.
– What is evident is a strong emigration wave. We had a process marred by many issues, much politics and I believe that everyone has the right to be suspicious of the results, Milososki said.
He pointed to the fact that there are 132,000 people in the country, who are present through their confirmed documents, noted economic activity and in other measurable ways, who were not reached by the census and did not give their ethnic identity. It’s expected that these are overwhelmingly ethnic Macedonians who boycotted the process.

The numbers should have been made public only after all these citizens were reached and after they gave their ethnic identity. That is why the census is incomplete. Ther eare over 5,200 ethnic Macedonians not accounted for in the municipality of Aerodrom, 4,450 in Gjorce Petrov, 5,000 in Centar, 5,000 n the city of Bitola and 4,700 in Veles. They were not counted in the ethnic division of the country, Milososki said.
