Antonio Milososki asked Prime Minister Zoran Zaev at Thursday’s Q&A session in Parliament why the government was in a rush to nominate new ambassadors Teuta Arifi to the United States, Dane Taleski to NATO, Miso Dokmanovic to Israel and Sasko Nasev to Bulgaria.
Why send political ambassadors before elections? Let us not bring them in a situation to have to recall them after the change of government. I will remind you of the case of Aleksandar Nikolovski, who was to go to Brussels just before the elections. You may want to repay these people in this way, but trust me you are not doing them a favor, Milososki said.
Prime Minister Zoran Zaev confirmed that two of the aforementioned ambassadors will be sent abroad, without saying who they are, noting that these were important ambassador posts that need to be filled.
I am not interfering in the choice of names, although I know two names have been discussed by the president and the foreign minister. In my opinion, there is enough time before the elections for these people to fill vacancies, especially in NATO, said Zaev.
