VMRO-DPMNE deputy leader Vladimir Misajlovski dismissed the initial results of the purge conducted by SDSM leader Zoran Zaev, who asked about a 100 of his top officials to resign their posts in the party, but let them keep their posts in the Government and the public administration. Hardest hit seems to be the wing of the party led by Radmila Sekerinska.
The purge is aimed at people who can challenge Zaev in the party. Zoran Zaev finds fault in all, except himself. And, of course, removing these people from their positions in the party does nothing to resolve the problems endured by the citizens. The people of Skopje are dissatisfied by Petre Silegov’s work as Mayor, not as deputy leader of the party. They need to resign from their state offices as well, as their incompetence can’t be papered over with their removal from positions in the party alone, Misajlovski said.
Misajlovski especially called for the firing of Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski, under whose term crime has spiraled out of control, and the Public Administration Minister Damjan Mancevski who is responsible for the series of public sector hirings of SDSM loyalists and close relatives of top party officials.
During the press conference, Misajlovski also congratulated to the European People’s Party, of which VMRO is a member, on its victory in the European elections.
