Of the more than 100,000 Macedonian citizens who hold a dual Bulgarian citizenship, only about 650 votes yesterday in the general and presidential elections.

Most of the votes in the Bulgarian Embassy in Skopje and consulates across the country were cast for the GERB party (207), followed by the nationalist VMRO-BND party led by Krasimir Karakacanov (136 votes). This did little to help Karakacanov enter Parliament, as he collapsed in the polls and another nationalist party took his place.
