The President of the Parliamentary Committee on Elections and Appointments, Ilija Dimovski, says that only the Parliament can elect Katica Janeva’s deputy after was ordered 30-day detention late Wednesday.

Both election (Article 3) and dismissal (Article 18) in the SPO are regulated by a special law and no other law cannot and may not be applied. The procedure is strict, which is why the institution is important. In both procedures (election and appointment) the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia and the Commission on Election and Appointment can neither be overridden, there cannot be dismissals in the SPO, nor appointments in the SPO without these two instances in the procedure, Dimovski wrote on Facebook.
