Speaking on Alsat TV, President Stevo Pendarovski said it was a mistake that, as he said “we showed that getting a date for start of negotiations with the EU was a done deal”.
Pendarovski says it is relatively difficult to sort things out so that Macedonia gets a date for the EU in the spring, reminding that it is still uncertain whether the new methodology will be adopted in January.
The initial information we have about the new methodology proposed by France says that at least 11 member states have amendments, 9 member states come up with a completely new proposal. I don’t think the French know when their proposal, if accepted at all, can be formally voted in the Commission, said Pendarovski.
