The Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Macedonia has officially taken over all cases from the Public Prosecutor’s Office for prosecution of criminal charges related to and arising from the content of the illegal wiretaps.

Following the takeover, as the prosecution said, the cases are entrusted to public prosecutors who had handled the specific cases until a competent Public Prosecutor’s Office and Public Prosecutor are be appointed to handle each case.

Public Prosecutor’s Office for prosecution of criminal charges related to and arising from the content of the illegal wiretaps will continue to enforce current security measures and the way in which cases, evidence and materials from the wiretaps are handled, and two public prosecutors are tasked with overseeing the implementation of these measures .
