SDSM presidential candidate Stevo Pendarovski, at Wednesday’s convention at Boris Trajkovski sports center, invited the audience to sing Macedonia’s national anthem together with him and opera singer Vesna Ginovska Ilkova.

Let’s show that it is not true that we have signed an agreement that bans the Macedonian national anthem. Let us sing together with the prima donna. We finally came after what was taken from us five years ago, he said.

This follows after there were a series of reactions because, during the visit of Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, the national anthem was left out, after which the opposition accused the government and SDSM of being ashamed of Macedonia.
