The MPs of VMRO-DPMNE and the coalition, after a 21-hour debate in the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia, for now, prevented SDSM from giving 33 million euros to Makpetrol, in order for Zaev to gain dominance over Telma, Dafina Stojanoska from VMRO-DPMNE told a press conference on Saturday.

She pointed out that Zaev wants to buy media space with public money, but also to fill the pocket of an oligarch.

The government wants to pass a law by the back door, without enough information and public consultation, which will recognize Makpetrol’s ownership of 50% in the gas pipeline in Macedonia and will be paid an enormously high price of 33 million euros for its share, although the government itself says that the value of Makpetrol’s share is 18.8 million euros. The question arises: Why does the Government want to pay Makpetrol an extra 14.2 million euros? The state attorney did not want to give permission to Prime Minister Zaev to sign the agreement, because it is criminal. Zaev knows that what he is doing is illegal and that he will be held accountable for it. That is why he is forcing the MPs to legalize his crime with a law, she stressed.
