The SONK teachers union is expected to resume its negotiations with the Education Ministry today, after the week long deadline it gave to the Ministry expired.
SONK demands an increase of 25 percent in the public education sector and threatens to resume its strike which it held for one day, at the start of the school year.
The Ministry asked for more time to consult other institutions and we gave it to them. Now the seven days are up, said SONK president Jakim Nedelkov.
Education Minister Arbr Ademi insisted that he doesn’t even want to consider the prospect of a general strike. The Government offers an increase of 5 percent.
