Macedonia surpassed 2,000 deaths from the coronavirus with the particularly bad daily toll that was reported by the Healthcare Ministry today. A total of 46 citizens have died of the illness, including a 28 year old man from Skopje. The total death toll now stands at 2,023.

Nineteen of the deaths were reported in the capital Skopje. Five of the deceased were from Tetovo, and three each from Veles, Ohrid and Strumica.

There are also 504 newly diagnosed cases – out of 1,470 tests that were conducted. Skopje has 174 new cases, followed by Kavadarci with 26 and Debar with 21. The number of active cases across the country is estimated at 21,579 – 10,886 of them in Skopje. Gostivar, Tetovo and Prilep have about a 1,000 cases each.
