Vesel Memedi, leader of the small ethnic Albanian NDP party, announced he will resign as deputy Speaker of Parliament, after his failed talks with Zoran Zaev over their future coalition.

Memedi’s party held the department of Municipal Administration in Zaev’s Government, but it was taken away from them in the recent purge and given to the Liberal-Democratic Party.

NDP insists that they were not consulted on the matter and will begin withdrawing all their officials from the lower echelons of the Government.
