French Ambassador to Macedonia Christian Thimonier met with VMRO-DPMNE officials in Ohrid, Saso Donev and Mitre Milosevski, to discuss the recent municipal elections and the problems the city faces.

An important matter we covered at length is, of course, the possibility that we are declared a temporarily endangered world heritage site at the UNESCO summit in Baku. We agreed that the recommendations we received more than a year ago should be taken with utmost seriousness and implemented to the full. We underlined our concern because of the numerous activities which endanger the lake, its nature, the authenticity of Ohrid and its cultural heritage, VMRO-DPMNE Ohrid said in its press release.

Ambassador Thimonier recently expressed concern about the activities in near-by Struga as well.
