Citizens who took photos for travel documents in December still do not have the documents they paid for. They complain that they wait even after two hours to get in line at the counter to pick up documents, and the answer from the other side of the counter is that their documents have not been ready yet or they have been prepared but have not been brought for issuance.
Republika requested answers from the Ministry of Interior.
What is the reason that the passports are already 2 months late?
Why haven’t already made passports been brought after a month so that they can be picked up?
Where can citizens get information about their travel documents? Citizens whose businesses depend on their travels also contacted the editorial office, and the old documents will no longer be valid from Monday. Planned trips cannot be realized due to lack of documents, although they took photos on time and paid for new ones. The Ministry of Interior answered all these questions:
Due to the large influx of requests for new personal documents, the deadline for their completion to the stage of issuance has been extended.
We are working on a complete reorganization of the process that will facilitate the issuing process itself, with the aim that in the future it will be timely and there will no longer be a large number of citizens who will create a crowd when picking up the documents.
Just as the Ministry of the Interior has reorganized the photography section, a reorganization is also underway in the section for issuing personal documents.
By strengthening personnel capacities, the Ministry of the Interior takes measures to ensure that citizens receive their documents as quickly as possible.
