VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski accused the ruling SDSM – DUI coalition of corruption and plundering the country, while regular citizens are left with declining living standards, or are being bribed with the modest farm subsidies payments, timed ahead of the presidential elections.

The agriculture was devastated as farmers were forced to wait for months for their subsidies, which they deliberately withheld and now give them just days before the elections. Nobody lives better, nobody even mentions the promises the Zaev Government made before they assumed power, Mickoski said during a rally in the rural community of Rankovce, near Kumanovo.

Mickoski told VMRO supporters in Rankovce that the first step toward normalizing the political situation in the country will be a win for the opposition candidate Gordana Siljanovska – Davkova at the presidential elections, against the SDSM – DUI candidate Stevo Pendarovski.

Their slogan, the one you see on the billboards they pay for with stolen money, says “together forward”. But in reality, we are moving backwards, not going forward. Only Zoran Zaev and Stevo Pendarovski are going forward, with their bags of money they stole. We refuse to go forward like that, said Mickoski.

The state Anti-Corruption Commission recently agreed with VMRO that the Zaev Government violated the law when they timed payments to vineyard farmers during the pre-election campaign. The electoral code bans extraordinary public procurement, hiring and payments during the election campaign as a form of abuse of public funds meant to influence voters.
