Zoran Zaev’s political career is based on two key promises, the first is life for all, and the second is the integration of the Republic of Macedonia in the EU, the Vice President of VMRO-DPMNE, Aleksandar Nikoloski said at Thursday’s press conference. Regarding the first, he said that Macedonia in the past four years has taken loans of over two billion euros and that there is total poverty in the country. Also, Nikoloski stressed that after four years it is clear that Zaev’s project for the EU ends with a total fiasco.
Four years of false promises that Macedonia will get a date for the start of EU negotiations. For four years, Zoran Zaev and his team have been promising to start negotiations, but they have not been able to say when the EU membership negotiations will start. We have not had an answer to the simple question posed by VMRO-DPMNE for four years, which is the date on which the negotiations with the EU will start, said the vice president of the opposition party.
According to him, after Bulgaria saw that Macedonia was not making progress in the area of reforms and the fight against organized crime and corruption, it decided to set its position.
Our party publicly called for a leaders’ meeting, at which we will take a joint stand. Unfortunately, our request was rejected, the request for a leaders’ meeting was rejected, the government continued to lead the processes on its own, believing that it would be able to present itself as the only factor that moves the country forward, Nikoloski said.
According to him, all this chronology shows that the Government led by Zaev has neither the will nor the capacity to make reforms, to fight organized crime and corruption, much less to solve open issues.
That is why they should leave as soon as possible! Zoran Zaev and this Government should resign and a government of national salvation should be formed, which will respond to this major crisis in which Macedonia is. Crisis regarding the blockade of the EU path, but also health and economic crisis due to the coronavirus, said the vice president of VMRO-DPMNE
