State prosecutors shockingly acknowledged today that forensics teams still haven’t examined the phone seized from Bojan Jovanovski – Boki 13, who is at the center of the racketeering allegations that stretch toward Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva and the ruling SDSM party.
Boki 13’s phone was seized on July 15th, when he was arrested along with his alleged accomplice Zoran Mileski – Zoki Kicheec. But, despite the alleged urgency of the case, his phone is still unexamined. Janeva also had her two phones seized, after initially saying that she lost one of them. Janeva had one of the phones scrubbed and given to her son’s girlfriend, who also works at the Special Prosecutor’s Office. She also ordered that computers at her office are formatted, but this was stopped when her colleagues got worried they can be prosecuted for destroying evidence.
The digital trails are seen as crucial in determining the links between Boki 13, Janeva and top SDSM party officials, but it is feared that the cavalier approach on the part of the prosecutors has already given time to the suspects to destroy much of the evidence.
