Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky strongly rebuked Western countries for not coming to his aid, as Russia extends its invasion into the second day.

We have been left alone to defend our state. Who is ready to fight alongside us? I don’t see anyone. Who is ready to give Ukraine a guarantee of NATO membership? Everyone is afraid, Zelensky said.

He announced that he remains in the capital, with his family, even as Russian ground troops are closing in and its air force and rockets and picking off targets. Zelensky said that the US and EU sanctions are obviously not enough to discourage Russia and to end its assault.
