Finance Minister Fatmir Besimi assured the public that Macedonia has enough strategic reserves of basic commodities, and insisted that there is no need for concern.
Through the Agriculture Ministry we have clear indication in the reserves we have and what reserves the merchants hold. There is no room for market speculation on their part, Besimi said.
In a Sitel TV interview, he also insisted that Macedonia will continue to reduce its public debt as share of the GDP, down to 56.5 percent.
As for the growing energy crisis, Besimi repeated the Government’s position that, while rising, fuel prices in Macedonia are lowest in the region.
