DUI party leader Ali Ahmeti told “Sloboden Pecat” that he expects Zoran Zaev to keep his word and ensure that an ethnic Albanian candidate is made Prime Minister for the last 100 days of the Government. Zaev intends to resign in the coming days after losing the local elections, and this has derailed his unwritten agreement with Ahmeti, which was a key promise of Ahmeti’s 2020 electoral campaign.
Agreement are not made to be canceled upon momentary wishes. We did not speak about our agreement and it was not disputed. We are now talking about how to overcome this emotional decision by Zoran Zaev and together come to sustainable solutions, Ahmeti said.
While announcing that he will resign as Prime Minister and SDSM party leader, Zaev said that he wants his coalition with DUI and a dozen smaller parties to endure, under a new Prime Minister.
