The Alliance of Albanians accused the SDSM – DUI led Government of missing another opportunity for Macedonia to open its EU accession talks. Bulgaria is expected to block Macedonia again, at the coming European Council on December 14th, as it demands major concessions from Macedonia in the area of national history and national identity.
Even though Deputy Prime Minister Artan Grubi was assuring the press that he will resolve the dispute with Bulgaria, the incoming Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov rejected the possibility that the veto is lifted, and the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry denied Grubi’s lie that France has undertaken an initiative to resolve the dispute. Bulgaria remains firm in its position toward Macedonia. The SDSM – DUI Govenrment continues to manipulate the public in an attempt to cling to power. But, with the 14th around the corner, it is more than clear that Macedonia is not even close to getting the date to open EU accession talks, the opposition Albanian party said in a statement.
