German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will have his first visit to the Balkans next month.

It is still not clear whether Macedonia will be on the list of countries he will visit. The message is supposed to be to re-assure Balkan countries that they will eventually be admitted to the European Union, even as the process is completely stalled, and to ward off interference from Russia and other global powers.
