The Prilep City Council elected Dejan Prodanoski from VMRO-DPMNE as its new Chairman. The 27 seat Council has 15 VMRO-DPMNE members, 10 fom SDSM and two from Levica. This unifies the local administration under VMRO-DPMNE control, with the party’s candidate Borce Jovceski also winning the mayoral race, even after a campaign of intimidation from the local SDSM appointed police commanders and affiliated thugs.
I expect constructive work in the Council, serious proposals and good decisions that will benefit all the citizens of Prilep, Prodanoski said.
In accordance with the positions Levica announced yesterday, their Council members may support VMRO in the running of the city. Levica did relatively well in the city, especially after their protest action on October 11th – the Day of the national uprising, when their members protested Zoran Zaev’s visit to the partisan memorial in the city.
