The Besa Trans bus in which 45 people died, including 12 children, was not produced in 2018 as it was announced. According to the data obtained by Republika, it is a Mercedes vehicle, produced in 2007. We checked the information in the Register of Motor Vehicles, where it can be seen that the white Mercedes-Benz Tourismo with license plates SK 0284 BA was produced in 2007.

The vehicle was imported by a company from Prilep in 2020, immediately after that it was sold to Besa Trans. It had a capacity for 49 people, but was asked to register for 54 passengers, for which they received a permit. Initially, until October 14, 2020, it had Prilep license plates, and from October 15, it has a new registration SK 0284 BA, claim Republika sources.

The date when BESA registered the bus coincides with the date that Customs indicated as the first day when the vehicle crossed the border.
