Health Minister Venko FIlipce met Monday with directors of clinics within the “Mother Teresa” medical complex, discussing the current epidemiological situation related to the number of cases and patients seeking hospitalization versus number of available beds and clinic capacities, as well as the possibility of opening new COVID-centers if necessary, the Health Ministry informed.

He asked the directors of the surgical clinics and the director of the Cardiology Clinic to submit a plan for the release of part of the capacities for covid patients if there is a need for that in the coming period.

So far we have stable numbers and according to the epidemiological situation we expect in the coming period to have more patient discharges and to reduce the influx of new patients. However, we must be prepared for any scenario, said Minister Filipce at the meeting.

In the next few days, it is expected that the proposals for opening additional Covid-centers in all clinics will be considered, the Health Ministry said.
