The Government plans to order some 40.000 public sector employees and activists to work on removing trash around the capital Skopje in mid December.
Public Administration Minister Damjan Mancevski said that the clean-up push will take place on December 14th, and the employees will be called to work for several hours until noon.
This will be a mass action to clean the city, which we hope will turn into an annual event, so that the public sector employees can help us maintain the environment. We hope that this will influence the consciousness of the citizens, said Mancevski.
The EU embassy in Macedonia will also join in the event, providing equipment and an information campaign.
