Although French President and German Chancellor Emmanuel Macron and Angela Merkel have made it clear that the EU is not considering enlargement, pouring cold water on the government’s hopes and promises for a date for EU negotiations in June, Prime Minister Zoran Zaev is grateful that “Germany and France recognize and point out accomplishments that we have taken as a top contributor to the Balkan and European stability”.
