VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski proposed Thursday an electoral model with 120 constituencies and one election round, so the person who wins the most votes in the first round will win a seat in Parliament.
He said that the meetings held so far between political parties on the Electoral Code focused on OSCE/ODIHR recommendations, and never on changing the electoral model.
Not always when SDSM officials make statements, they speak the truth. I suggest accepting 120 constituencies and going to the polls. If they want the vote to be valued and to have democratic elections, we suggest 120 constituencies, the person who wins the most votes in the first round to be the representative of the citizens in the Parliament, said Mickoski.
He called on Prime Minister Zoran Zaev to hold elections in March.
It would be wise for Zaev to accept the request for early parliamentary elections in March. Now in October, it will be decided whether we will get a date for negotiations, or not, or we will only get a conditional settlement. Let’s then form a technical government and prepare the institutions. This is the only way we can check whether we shine, or crime shines, said Mickoski.
