VMRO-DPMNE President Hristijan Mickoski revealed that a Government official has warned Bojan Jovanovski – Boki 13 that his racketeering operation is under surveillance. This flies in the face of comments from outgoing Prime Minister Zoran Zaev that he was not involved in the extortion of millions of euros from businessman, but instead reported the case to the prosecutors.
According to Mickoski, the Zaev Government was actually warning the extortionists that they are being watched.

Very soon the public will hear that somebody from the Government warned Bojan Jovanovski about the Racket investigation. That is not good. If it’s true, let’s see who it was, since this octopus is growing in size. It is not limited to just four suspects. Bojan Jovanovski was a guest in Zaev cabinet, and Zaev himself said that he sees him as an owner of a pro-Government TV station, Mickoski said during a TV interview this evening.

Zaev is attempting to deflect blame for the racketeering perpetrated by his close ally Katica Janeva and her accomplices like Boki 13 by claiming that, as soon as he heard about what was going on, he reported the case to the state prosecutors. This claim is undermined by the fact that Zaev continued to push for Janeva’s appointment as a permanent Special Prosecutor and expressed his full confidence in her long after he allegedly reported her racketeering operation.

The Racket trial is about to begin soon, and as a result the political scene in Macedonia is in a state of flux, especially with the early general elections coming in a matter of months and Zaev expected to resign shortly after New Year.
