It’s shocking how disinterested state prosecutors are about crimes perpetrated by the Government, VMRO-DPMNE President Hristijan Mickoski said during his meeting today with the EU Ambassador to Macedonia Samuel Zbogar.

Zaev’s Government shows no interest to remove the obvious defects which cost the country a date to begin the accession talks. Instead of reforms, we see crime, persecution and threats aimed at the press, the opposition and all critical voices. The political persecution of the opposition is performed in order to shift the public’s attention away from the real problems they face, and the criminal scandals prove that Macedonia is in need of meaningful refomrs in the judiciary and the state prosecutor’s service, who need to operate lawfully and objectively. It’s shocking how disinterested state prosecutors are about crimes perpetrated by the Government, Mickoski said.

The opposition leader underlined that VMRO-DPMNE has a strategic goal to have Macedonia admitted to the European Union. “But, we are concerned because of the poorest reform results yet and the lack of capacity in this Government to implement reforms”, he added.
