Opposition leader Hristijan Mickoski told his supporters in Skopje that the energy that is felt during the VMRO-DPMNE rallies is such that it will cause early general elections. The SDSM party refused to allow early general elections to be held along with the presidential ones scheduled in late April – early May, because that would’ve sparked a resignation from Prime Minister Zoran Zaev and VMRO would have taken over several Government departments, to ensure that the elections are free and fair.

The time of politicians like Stevo Pendarovski and Zoran Zaev is coming to an end. Now is the time for honest people to lead this country. We won’t be seeing manicured politicians strutting red carpets across Europe. You will see tired and sleep deprived politicians who will work for their people. They want to travel across to Europe to increase their personal wealth. We will work for a rich country and rich citizens. They would give up all our past, all our history and tradition. They see it as an anchor that drags us back. For us, it is the sail which will propel us forward toward an honorable and dignified future, said Mickoski during his rally in the Karpos district of Skopje.

The VMRO leader reminded his supporters how Zaev changed his mind several times, accepting that a loss for his candidate Pendarovski will spark early general elections, then denying he said that, only to finally agree to it again.

After Gordana Siljanovska wins on May 5th we are in for early general elections. It’s not that I trust Zaev or take his word for it. He is not an honorable man. But, I see that there is such energy among the people that we will spark early general elections. The people is fed up with the humiliations and the spinelessness. This people wants to be proud, dignified and walk proudly, with the heads held high, said Mickoski.

In his rally in the Butel area of Skopje, Mickoski also reminded the attendees how Zaev brutally lied to the public that a vote for him will mean that the young people who moved out of Macedonia will return.

He lied, the slandered us, he said that the people are leaving because of the policies of the previous Government, but now he is increasing the exodus even more. Entire families are leaving, broken by his false promises, Mickoski added.
