Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski refused to answer to reporters who were asking him if he also intends to resign after the devastating defeat in the local elections. Spasovski’s personal animosity with the SDSM Mayor of Kumanovo Maksim Dimitrievski forced Dimitrievski to launch an independent run, which he eventually won. This cost SDSM an important and easy hold in the local elections and added to the defeat after which Zoran Zaev announced he will resign as Prime Minister and party leader (but is yet to do the former).
A journalist asked Spasovski if he will resign, given that SDSM lost even in his own neighborhood in Kumanovo. Spasovski simply ignored the question and walked into the SDSM party office, where the SDSM leadership is meeting to discuss their slipping hold on power.
