If a gaffe is when a politician accidentally tells the truth, President Stevo Pendarovski made the mother of all gaffes today. Speaking to an audience of young people from the Balkans gathered in Novi Sad, Pendarovski advised them to leave their countries.

You only have one life to live, we all do, and nobody is crazy to spend his life while EU accession talks last for years and the average wage in my country is 400 EUR. If I weren’t President, I would move out of my country, Pendarovski said.

His comment just as one of the ministers in the outgoing Zaev Government laughed on TV while discussing the betrayed pre-election promise that Zaev will make the young people who left Macedonia return to the country.
