The Levica party informs that SDSM is running a fake new campaign by distributing leaflets it attributes to Levica. The material disparages Skopje opposition mayoral candidate Danela Arsovska as a “Bulgarian agent”, in line with the campaign SDSM is pushing this week – through press conferences using fake documents declaring that Arsovska has a Bulgarian citizenship, internet ads and now leaflets.

In this case, the leaflets bear the sign of Levica, which yesterday announced that it will support candidates who oppose SDSM and DUI, and could provide the crucial votes for Arsovska in the run-off race on Sunday, especially given that the Levica mayoral candidate Petar Georgievski had a very strong third rank finish. Levica says that the attack materials on Arsovska were not printed by them and are planted by the ruling SDSM party.

Given how the entire campaign was conducted, given the intimidation, pressure and irregularities, this criminal act, this false material, could only be the work of structures close to the Government directly instructed by SDSM, Levica said in a statement.

The left wing party also said that they have identified the printing press which prepared the materials, saying it is a small press located in Bogdanci, whose owner is close to SDSM. “Between 2018 and 2020 this printing press won public contracts worth 100,000 EUR. Therefore we call on the prosecutors to investigate these illegal activities by people affiliated with the Government”, Levica demands.
