Inspector of Education Gjorgi Ilevski showed the media correspondence with the head of government, in which the Prime Minister writes that there was nothing controversial about the promotion of the three DUI officials at the Tetovo University. Zaev wrote a text message to the Tetovo inspector personally. In it, the prime minister assures the inspector that under the new Higher Education Law passed last year, Ademi, Nuhiu and Emruli were legally promoted to higher teaching and scientific titles while holding public office. However, Ilievski reminded the prime minister that the three DUI officials were promoted in 2016 – contrary to both the Constitution and the law at the time. He accused Zaev of influencing the decision of the second instance commission.

The second instance decision-making commission in the field of inspection, which is conducted by Strumica’s attorney Mirjana Panajotova appointed by the Parliament under the influence of Prime Minister Zoran Zaev as well as Gjorgi Cukarski, also a graduate lawyer from Strumica. This act of interference by the Prime Minister is evidence of the lack of legal institutions, and these commissions are party bodies of SDSM and DUI, says Inspector Ilievski.

Ilievski submitted the documents on the irregularities committed during the second-instance inspection to the Commission for Prevention of Corruption. He says that all the findings he has will be taken to the foreign embassies as well.

Because of disclosing that three DUI officials illegally obtained higher teaching and scientific titles, Ilievski was punished by the State Education Inspectorate and reassigned to a lower job position.
