Prompted by the press, Public Prosecutor Ljubomir Joveski pledged to investigate where did the money extorted in the major racketeering scandal end up.

Joveski said that his OJO prosecutors still haven’t determined where the money are, but then assured the Telma TV journalist that they were not shared with politicians from the ruling SDSM party. This denial without a clarification about the flow of the millions extorted in the “Racket” scandal only added to public impressions that state prosecutors are trying to cover up the biggest scandal in recent Macedonian history.

The scandal involves allegations that showman Bojan Jovanovski – Boki 13 extorted 1.5 million EUR from businessman Jordan Orce Kamcev, and at least an additional million from construction companies. Video tapes revealed Kamcev giving a pricey designer bag to Boki 13 full of cash, and speculations have circled that the bag was equipped with a GPS device revealing that it was taken by Boki 13 to an adviser of Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, or even to the Government building itself.

The trail of the money doesn’t lead to certain politicians, Joveski half-heartedly told the press, as he sought to dismiss charges that his office is undercutting the investigation to protect Boki 13’s powerful helpers. “We have already interrogated 15 people. The public has the impression that we only work when we summon witnesses, but there were times when we were waiting for forensics investigations and analyses”.

Joveski also denied the reports that disgraced former Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva was present when Boki 13 picked up the first tranche of money from Kamcev.
