The Zoran Zaev Government announced that it will remove about 30 managers of public institutions, as part of the promised “purge” of corrupt and incompetent officials.
The list includes the managers of some of the main cash cows, such as the manager of the ELEM company Dragan Minovski, and Saso Vasilevski, from MEPSO, the two main state owned energy companies. Gajur Kadriu is removed as manager of the public roads company, Viktorija Rangelova was dismissed from the Drama Theater, Katerina Stavrik from the Pediatric Clinic in Skopje…
SDSM and DUI were at odds for months over the exact details of the purge and the redistribution of the most lucrative public companies among them, as allegations of nepotism in the hiring process spread each day. So far the main victim of Zaev’s purge was Finance Minister Dragan Tevdovski, who was replaced by Zaev himself.
