VMRO-DPMNE official and former Finance Minister Trajko Slaveski was in Petrovec near Skopje today, to discuss the points of the opposition party’s program for the coming 2020 elections, as part of the “Macedonia’s Renewal” tour.
It’s our tradition to prepare our election programs together with the citizens, to come and ask for ideas that will be developed by our teams and to list the problems that are not being solved. We saw how the SDSM and DUI coalition promised a lot but delivered almost nothing. Their sole focus is on changing the name and the treaty with Bulgaria. EU and NATO membership still seems like a distant perspective. We will work for it to happen, but the problems of the citizens will not be resolved just by joining NATO. Look at Albania, who is a NATO member, and its citizens still face enormous problems, Slaveski said.
VMRO is expected to carry on its listening tour until the end of the year, as it pushes for early elections in April. Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, faced with a decline in the polls, has refused to allow early elections.
