The first suspect in the beating of Croatian handball player Denis Tot, who died as a result of injuries, Angelo Gjorgievski, is a multiple offender convicted of drug trafficking in Slovenia, the “24 Info” news portal reported.

Gjorgievski, who was born in Maribor, had a serious car accident in the center of the city in June 2016. He crashed into five parked cars with his Fiat Punto and fled, but was soon caught by the police.

Then the Maribor police went in search of a gang of drug dealers, including Gjorgievski. In October the same year, the police found a laboratory for the production of synthetic drugs in Sentilj. Among other things, there was GHB (gamma hydroxybutyrate) which belongs to the category of depressants of the nervous system or a sleep aid and known as a rape drug. Amphetamines and marijuana were also seized in the laboratory.

A central arrest warrant has been issued for Gjorgievski, which means that the police believe that he is in the country. But, considering that he lives abroad, it is not excluded that he left Macedonia.
