The VMRO-DPMNE party said it will align its position on Ukraine with that of the European People’s Party, where VMRO is a member. EPP leader Donald Tusk from Poland is one of the most outspoken critics of the Russian attack on Ukraine.

We again reiterate that for VMRO-DPMNE it is fundamentally important to respect the norms of international law, which includes protecting the territorial sovereignty, integrity and independence of Ukraine. VMRO-DPMNE has in the past, and does now, fully supported NATO positions on challenges the world faces. We call on the Government to stop its involvement in crime and corruption and to begin taking steps that would prevent the further rise of energy costs and of the inflation which are destroying what’s left of Macedonia’s economy, VMRO-DPMNE said in a statement.
