VMRO-DPMNE is holding a round table as part of its “It’s important” meetings, where mayors elected on the party ticket are discussing their work over the past two years.

Aerodrom Mayor Timco Mucunski said that his administration removed eight planned construction sites, where residential buildings were planned, and rezoned the site into a large park. “We are talking about an area with already high population density. Next spring, all of Aerodrom and Skopje will be able to use this new park for their recreation”, Mucunski said.

The young Mayor added that Aerodrom built as many sport facilities in its territory as did the Government’s Agency for Youth and Sports at the territory of the entire country.

Orce Gjorgjievski from Kisela Voda pointed to the construction of much needed water and sewage facilities in long neglected parts of this industrial area, and the 90 percent implementation of the election program that he ran on.

As coordinator of our group in the Council, we prevented the construction of 99 new buildings in the Rasadnik area. The zoning plan for this area was in the final stages of approval. We decided to allow experts, including from Bologna, and the local citizens to decide what to do with Rasadnik – we haven’t had international experts involved in a zoning plan in Skopje since the 1963 earthquake, Gjorgjievski said.

According to Boban Stefkovski from Gazi Baba, the municipality was able to repair the disastrous supply with running water and sewage links that existed a few years ago. “We paved 29,000 square meters of roads, linking nearly all settlements. We invested 50 million denars in public schools and we built 18 sports centers”, Stefkovski said.
