Immediately after assuming power in over 40 municipalities across Macedonia, the generation of new VMRO-DPMNE mayors began to work on implementing new projects and resolving problems of the citizens. The opposition party is using its overwhelming victory in the local elections to try to show a new approach to running things as it wants to return to power at the central level as well.

In Skopje’s districts of Kisela Voda, Gjorce Petrov and Butel, the new mayors are hard at work cleaning up unregulated dump sites that were left untouched for years. In Gazi Baba, Stip and Ohrid, the mayors, often accompanied by VMRO leader Hristijan Mickoski, are meeting with the citizens and initiating work on the main problems they point to.
