In Berlin, Prime Minister Zoran Zaev is having a morning meeting with Chancellor Angela Merkel, which should determine the next stage of political events in Macedonia.

Zaev presented the meeting as the decisive moment when Germany will either push for Macedonia to open EU accession talks this summer, or he may resign in protest. Zaev is scaremongering the EU with rise of nationalism if he resigns, while President Stevo Pendarovski, who visited Brussels yesterday, added the fear of unchecked migration from and through Macedonia to the list of threats.
