Prime Minister Zoran Zaev met Friday with Chair of the European Parliament’s Delegation to the Joint Parliamentary Committee EU-Macedonia, Austrian Member of European Parliament (MEP) Andreas Schieder.
At the meeting Schieder voiced satisfaction with the exceptionally good annual report of the European Commission on the progress of Macedonia in the EU integration process, and assessed it as a strong message and confirmation of the country’s determination to meet the obligations ahead of the opening of the EU accession negotiations.
Prime Minister Zaev thanked for the support coming from the European Parliament and expressed expectation that despite today’s decision of the Republic of Bulgaria not to support the negotiating framework for Macedonia’s EU negotiations, and that intensified communication is a way to a solution for our integration, for Bulgaria, for the region and for the EU.
